I’m back! After a crazy Paris Fashion Week, shows, shopping and generally living a life so far removed from what I do on the daily basic (hmm, excuse me, I have some lawyering to do) I reluctantly boarded Eurostar back to London. I could get used to this charmed life 🙂 You know, lovely hotel, shows, shopping…who wouldn’t 🙂
I will show you photos and videos from the shows next week but today I wanted to share with you my private photos from the trip. I stayed in a beautiful boutique hotel recommended by Mr & Mrs Smith. Hotel Le A, just off Champs- Élysées and a two minute stroll from Arc de Triomphe, is everything a girl traveling on her own would want. After an initial annoyance- a junior suite in my experience is two rooms, not one large one- I decided to settle in and enjoy my chic, white everything room with four floor to celling mirrors- handy for all the selfies I took.
It was truly a room with a view.
And with most comfortable bed to have a breakfast in- every day.
Bathroom wasn’t too bad, either… I tested it ever day and I can confirm that a long luxurious bubble baths are great for a girls’s soul.
In fact, it was quite difficult to leave the hotel but there were shows to see and shopping to do. I didn’t travel with a photographer so I’ve resolved to taking selfies. I must admit, my selfies game is not very strong. How do you girls do it? Any tips? Mine always turn out so blurry.
See what I mean? Here in Zara pants, Isabel Marant jacket and Rupert Sanderson heels.
Here in my St Laurent boots, Isabel Marant jacket and carrying Zofia Chylak bag.
Out and about in my Burberry coat and carrying Celine bag. And of course, my ever present Uniqlo grey jumper. I decided to visit one of my favourite places in Paris, Place Vendôme and Rue Saint Honore.
Spotted chic fashionistas leaving Gucci and hailing a taxi.
Hankered after a Valentino bag.
And checked out Prada store.
Fabulous Place Vendôme.
Pink or blue? Or both?
A pit stop at Ladureé at Rue St Honore.
And walked down to the Opera before heading for Les Grands Magasins just round the corner.
I might have raided a few shops…
Raid on Chanel turned out to be very successful…
As was a raid on Sephora.
I’m totally in love with Sephora hand masks.
Stocked up on lace from Etam.
A day at Le Bon Marche where I might have bought those Isabel Marant pants.
And of course, obligatory Parisian cafes.
And other things of beauty.
It was a fabulous trip. It felt strange at the beginning, all on my own with no one to go for a dinner or drinks. But I soon realised that going out on your own in Paris is not at all uncomfortable. No one stares at you in the restaurant, no one thinks it’s strange that you are having a drink on your own. It felt very relaxing, just watching people go by or reading my book at dinner (my mother would told me off for reading and eating!).
My relaxing solitude was punctuated by the fashion shows, which added an extra allure to the already magical trip.
When the week was up I was truly sad to leave Paris behind and I’m already plotting my next escape. And you now what? I won’t mind going on my own 🙂
