I’m the first to admit that I’m a wimp when it comes to the weather. When the temperature drops to +15C I’m immediately in my faux fur jacket, hunting for winter boots. In an eternal struggle to keep warm, over the knee boots feature heavy in my winter arsenal.
I was a bit late on the trend. I loved it from the very beginning but it was certainly out of my comfort zone. Yet, after I bought an incredible pair by a Polish brand, Gino Rossi, I was hooked. Those boots are sadly no longer around but I have lost count how many times was I chased down the street by girls eager to know where I got them.
Recently I’ve fallen in love with Stuart Weitzmann Highland boots. I fantasized how incredible they will look every day with my tweed suit, or with below the knee pencil skirt. Battle high feels v flats. was won by heels but the following day I was already wandering whether I’ve made a mistake. Despite being very comfortable, they are still high heels and kinda slowed me down in daily street navigation. I’ve also realised that flats would have taken care of “heels on my feet or in a bag” conundrum (I’m sure lot of you will know what I mean. I’m always on a lookout for a suitable corner where I can change my shoes before a meeting). Please don’t tell me I need both pairs in my closet!
On my last Birthday along came a charcoal suede pair from Prima Moda. They are stunning yet fall into “going out boots” category. Their sky high stiletto makes them unwalkable (other than to the cab) but they score highly on the wow factor.
My snakeskin boots are from Topshop. Being a stickler for quality I never used to wear Topshop. Recently I’ve discovered that they have fantastic quality, grown up pieces and as you can imagine, I have been visiting the store quite often… This pair is definitely a conversation starter across the whole spectrum of society. Pretty much like my leopard print coat, these shoes stir emotion in nearly everyone and everyone has an opinion on them, too. I love them. They are bold, beautiful and will seamlessly translate to the next season when I will be wearing them with suede (
