So here we are again- in mid February and with two days to go to Valentine’s Day. Wouldn’t it be nice to do a champagne review? But which one? Big brand or a boutique bubbly? I didn’t try anything mind-blowing recently and wring about something for the sake of it is pointless and fake. So last week I begun a search for something pink and fizzy. And then it occurred to me that I’ve never tasted Laurent Perrier Rose- one of the most iconic rose champagnes in the world.
Shame on me! So many years in business and not even a sip! How did I miss it? No idea but perhaps it was my undying devotion to Billecart -Salmon Rose and unwillingness to change. Well than, it was time to try something new and remove this horrible black mark form my CV. Hence last Saturday my hubby and I took the risk and got a bottle of pink LP. We chilled it and opened after dinner. And wow! Looks like I’ve wasted half of my life on not drinking it! It’s as good as its fame. I love it! It has a gorgeous colour, little lively bubbles and an amazing flavour of rose and strawberries with just a tiny touch of fruity sweetness at the end. I didn’t think I’d say that but this is probably the sexiest champagne on Earth. It may not the best but it’s truly the most sensual and feminine of all I’ve tied so far. I have to agree with the rest of the world- if you want to blow over £60 on champagne, make LP your choice for Valentine’s Day.
Good news: in February LP Rose is on offer in most of high-street retailers.
