I still remember my first Michael Kors purchase. I got my first salary as a lawyer and feeling flush with cash, I marched into Michael Kors store on Regents Street, intended on coming out with a bounty.
I tried on fabulous jacket and trousers, which were slightly too “fashion” for the office and settled on a silk top in the hue of light cappuccino. I still wear it today- you saw it in my previous post “Uptown girl goes to work”.
I’ve been an avid fan of Michael Kors style for years and now, free to stalk his Instagram feed, I come for a daily dose of inspiration.
His brand’s feed is full of whites, greys and blues, tan and snakeskin accessories (although if you craving some bling, you will find plenty of it, too). What I love about his style is that I don’t need a thick wallet to recreate it. Take my today’s outfit. It was inspired by Michael Kors menswear and a photo on Instagram I saw sometime ago in May.
None of my clothes (save for accessories) are designer here. My jacket is from Zara and my jeans are from All Saints (I’m gutted that Topshop seemed to have discounted their Baxter white jeans). My top is from another high street label, Vila. Yet, dressed like this I wouldn’t feel out of place in S Tropez.
What do you think of Michael Kors’s label? Do you like his style?
