Here, in Britain, we are obsessed with the weather. Not only that but we also appear to have an urgent need for running commentary on the subject. It’s raining! It’s sunny! No, false alarm, just a reflector.
What I’m really saying is that it finally got warm enough in the evenings for me to be able to wear a dress sans jacket. Balmy evenings tempt me with bars on the waterfront and rum cocktails. As much as I love cool factor courtesy of of-the-moment jeans and silk shirts, sometimes I just want to wear a pretty dress and heels.
I’m obsessed with slip dresses ever since I saw “Scarface” and had a girl crush on Michelle Pfeiffer character, Elvira Hancock. Current season saw slip dresses styled with heavy boots or kicks. I’m short so it ain’t happening or I’d look like I just rolled out of bed and not in that way.
Today I’m wearing oyster colour Mango dress with taupe Rupert Sanderson heels and Anya Hindmarch clutch. I like effortlessness of slip dresses- just add heels and red lipstick and you are good to go. Al Pacino not included in a package.
