CLINIQUE – FIRST AID FOR WHEN MY SKIN FEELS LIKE A DESERT

We all have favourite cosmetics which we treat as our essentials and without them we believe that we can’t function. I found my “first aid“ for dry skin in Clinique.  I have known most of products below for some years and I use them whenever I feel that my skin has turned into the Sahara Desert. Dust, central heating, terrible weather – especially now in winter – they all affect my skin terribly and I need extra protection on top of my usual face care kit.

@ CLINIQUE MOISTURE SURGE, EXTENDED FIRST RELIEF – this one is my absolute favourite! I can’t live without this stuff. It’s a delicate water based cream–gel designed for fast and long lasting hydration, refreshing and skin plumbing. It works and also removes some wrinkles and lines. Every time I apply the cream it feels like putting your face under warm spring rain and the feeling lasts for a few minutes. You can use it at any time – day, night, under or over makeup, or as a quick mask; literally any time when you feel the need. I carry mine in my bag everywhere, especially on beach holidays.

@ CLINIQUE MOISTURE SURGE OVERNIGHT MASK – I really like this for two reasons:  first because it’s light and doesn’t feel like your face is caked up with something and second, because it’s so easy to use, no mess when applying, no timing to 15-20 minutes, and no need to clean it off. When I sleep – it works.  Its really good moisturising mask I often use also during the day if I need some extra rehydration.

@ CLINIQUE 7DAY SCRUB CREAM – this came free with a pack and I decided to give it a try.  I liked it from the start. It’s delicate, rinses off well and doesn’t dry or hurt my skin as other face scrubs have in the past.  My skin feels nice and smooth afterwards and I think it removes some small wrinkles too.

@ CLINIQUE ALL ABOUT EYES – I generally don’t use eye creams believing my chemist friend who says that most of them are a con (just face cream in a smaller pack) but this one I think does work because if I’m tired and stressed or after a bad night’s sleep it takes some of the tiredness away and removes the dark circles. Also the tiny crow’s feet I spotted after my Mexico trip disappeared so I’m happy.

@ CLINIQUE SMART CUSTOM–REPAIR SERUM – this one is a new addition recommended to me by a friend. I like it, my skin is fresher, firmer and looks healthier and even. Removes a lot of lines, wrinkles and redness and smoothes my skin.

If you suffer from dry skin and the uncomfortable feeling of skin being tightly stretched on your face, you may like to try these too. They did help me hugely and despite not being anti-ageing cosmetics they remove a lot of “ageing symptoms” like little lines and wrinkles, redness, tiredness and dark circles around eyes. I use some of them with other cosmetics all year round and the others – like the serum – before I start using a new brand or when I take an occasional break from using the same cream.  If you use the same cream for long periods of time your skin gets used to it and it doesn’t work as well.

All the above products are allergy tasted and very delicate so they allow my skin to rest and rejuvenate.
