This post was supposed to be about something else but it didn’t pan out this way. With a week to go to the wedding I decided it was now or never to hit the shops and check out the sales in London.
I wasn’t sure what I wanted but I knew what I didn’t want- a one time wonder I would put in the back of the closet once the party was over.
There are some pieces we just fall in love with and we can’t explain why. Only an evening before I was considering a very elegant clutch by Zofia Chylak (they will be restocking her St Laurent worthy bucket bags soon!) when the following day I strolled into Liberty and saw this Anya Hindmarch beauty calling my name from the back of the room.
I edged in closer. I took it from display. It was perfect. No…I could’t possibly…a silver clutch? What on Earth for? And yet…I checked it out again. It definitely knew my name. I’m your missing puzzle- it seemed to whisper. I suddenly saw myself wearing it with skinnies, heels and well cut jacket. Only after I thought about my wedding outfit.
I decided to employ my old rule- to go away and return in an hour. If it was meant to be mine, it would still be there.
It was. I haven’t been so excited about a piece in years. The only way I can describe it is “fabulous”. The dress? What does it matter when the bag is a star.
