It was perfect. Right in the middle of Covent Garden (or shall I say, almost on the steps of Royal Opera House), with a large meeting room, in a lovely period house- I fell in love with what could be our new office. My team loved it, too. I started on the paperwork.
But the evening after work, my old friends- doubts, started knocking on my door. I recognised them straight away because we’ve been there before. “You’ll have zero £££” said one. ” said another. “Forget about new Burberry bag- no drawings for you”- quipped another. I froze. I knew exactly what was going to happen. They would talk me out of it. They always have.
I went looking for answers online. Soon I was down a rabbit hole of Warren Buffett’s world and stumbled upon his advice that made me ask myself questions I should have asked ages ago. It was an eye opening evening to say the least.
And so I decided to take this office in Covent Garden. A new era for us, new clients, new opportunities. It is going to be an exciting time. And you know what? I don’t want this Burberry handbag after all. I may be buying Burberry shares instead.
