BUBBLES FOR CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST

Every year, every December, I slowly get my Christmas Booze Case collection together. This year I started with sparkles, one of the first additions to my collection being Ridgeview Blanc de Noir sparkling wine from Sussex. I first tasted this at the end of August during my visit to the Estate (here) and completely fell for it. In my opinion this is the best of their blends and will be perfect to start the Christmas Day festivities, beautifully complementing our breakfast of smoked salmon and black caviar blinis and beef carpaccio canapes.

Ridgeview Blanc de Noirs

This is made purely of black grapes, 50/50 Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, which makes it more full bodied and richer with savoury, earthy aromas. The mousse is made of really fine but persistent bubbles, and according to Decanter Magazine it’s the softest Blanc de Noir in the UK. Delicate flavours of honey, red fruits, and red apple on the complex and tasty palate with clean long finish. Perfect for an aperitif or as an accompaniment to Christmas breakfast.
