CHANEL BRONZER REVIEW & MY FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

I’ve admitted before that I’m a beauty junkie and little good did it do. If I was hoping to somehow put myself on a path to recovery, it didn’t work. My baskets still overflows with beauty products, hair stuff, skin care and make up. I love the thrill of getting new products, that sudden “eureka” moment which comes with hope that with this very product I will solve my hair or skin issues.

Not all of them work of course. Some I find not suitable for my skin or hair, and some are just an inflated advertising campaign and very little merits. But there come products that I will keep buying over and over again and hoping they won’t be discontinued any time soon.

One of them is Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer. As a fake tan addict trying not to stray into The Only Way is Essex territory, I’m always on a lookout for a natural looking glow and a product that would make me look like I’ve spent a weekend with my toes in the sand in the South of France, rather than on a tan bed. I’ve previously used Chanel Les Beiges bronzing powder and Chanel Lumière D’ètè Illuminating powder which I loved so much I would burn through it in 6 weeks flat. Well, Soleil Tan as it turns out, trumps its older sisters. It has a cream/mousse texture and goes on like a dream. I use a big flat brush rather than my fingers. On  the days I need a little more coverage I first use a drop of Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow foundation, which is yet another great product from the French house. Can they go wrong at all? After using Dior Forever for a while to cover up skin problems, I’m finally able to use something a little lighter and Les Beiges foundation is just that. It makes my skin luminous yet not at all shiny, and makes me look like I’m not wearing any foundation at all.

Soleil Tan de Chanel would be my dessert island product, or rather, in today’s day & age, my first choice when it comes to packing hand luggage for traveling on popular airlines. When I got the box, it seemed rather small but I’ve used it for a few weeks now and I haven’t yet made a dent. It wins with any other bronzers, hands down. Natural looking, stays on the whole day and doesn’t go splotchy after hours of running around and in air conditioned office. It looks like it’s going to take up a permanent residence in my make up bag.

On the photos you can see a few more products which also deserve a mention. One of them is La Nuit De Chanel. I had a sample of it a while ago and after using it two nights in a row, I woke up to an even, luminous skin. Still, it took me a while to take a plunge and buy it, mainly due to it’s price. Still, I’m glad I did. It’s a wonderful cream, packed with hyaluronic acid which calmed redness in my skin and left me with a smoother, more even complexion.

I’ve written time and again about battle between me and my hair, and all the different products I buy in the hope to manage their fine, frizzy texture. This time, I’m trying Bumble & Bumble series. I’ve told you about (H)air Styler in “Going French” post and since then my arsenal grew by Invisible Oil shampoo and conditioner, and a cross between dry shampoo and thickening spray called Dryspun Finish. I used to have the original Thickening Spray but it didn’t work for me at all, making my fine hair limp rather than fuller. This products is different.  It gives my hair lift and texture and I use it every time when I want to create seemingly messy, just of of bed hair (which is all the time).

I’m still testing the shampoo and conditioner but so far I’m happy with the results. My hair will never be frizz free but they seem to be more silky and soft, and moisturised which is precisely why I splurged on them. So far so good.

And last but by no means least, my new series of Eberlin skincare. It was Iuliana, a beauty expert who introduced me to the brand. She had used the products before to a great effect and on hearing about my skin issues she recommended I try them. She gave me Eberlink Firmezza Essential R-45 serum which had me waking up with plump, dense skin. As it’s quite a strong product so someone my age is recommended to use it only twice a week. I was so impressed with the results, I bought the whole series for myself and another one for my mother. It includes Balancing Fluid, which is a cleanser and Balancing Lotion, which is kind of like a tonic except better. I also got vitamin C serum and Luz De Asia serum/cream. So far my skin had cleared up (famous last words…) and is smooth, dense and kind of…young? It seems that it has a thicker texture and is much much plumper.

I will soon introduce to you Eberlink boss for the UK, a glamazon with shiny raven hair, swinging a Birkin on her arm. And for spring she is bringing to the UK new body treatment- I think you will love it. It involves loosing inches of your waist and tights in one treatment. You are welcome 🙂
