BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S, PARIS

“ I read your blog and I couldn’t resist- it was a comment left on our Instagram page by one of the Tiffany crew- did your wish come true?”

Back in December I wrote a post called “Dear Santa” where I talked about planning to buy a Tiffany bracelet as a celebration of a dream coming true. If it did. And finally in March, after a lengthy application process, months of preparation and waiting, I was authorized to open my own law firm. It was a cumulation of several years of study, work and plenty of sacrifice. It was exhilarating and scary at the same time. It was like receiving a key to the door opening a new chapter. Tentatively, I stepped in.

But there was no time to celebrate. I had to find an office, buy a furniture, computers and think about smallest things, down to picking out logo for my letterheads. It was crazy. And even though I knew that I was bringing my clients with me, I didn’t want to somehow jinx my fledging business by early celebrations. Does it make sense? I mean, for quite a while I couldn’t believe I was finally doing it. It felt like I was going to wake up from a dream any moment.

But six months on, I felt confident enough to raise a glass. I figured that doing it in Paris with my favorite people would be a good idea. They laugh when I tell them they should be honorary partners but my parents (and my grandparents who couldn’t be with us in Paris) and The French were all instrumental to my success. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for their support and encouragement to do it alone (I used to be the most unhappy employee in the world).

Since it was a celebration time, it was also time to buy that Tiffany bracelet I’ve wanted for so long. For me it was symbolic- Tiffany signifies quality and longevity whilst being thoroughly modern and I wanted the same for my firm.

My parents offered to buy the bracelet for me which made it all the more special. Our first target was Galerie Lafayette but the mad loud crowd of shoppers made us run for the hills. Actually, only next door to neighbouring Primtemps where in a Tiffany store a lonely hottie was perusing engagement rings.

I had my designs on T Square bracelet but the moment I saw a bracelet from their Atlas collection I knew it was going to be mine. Inspired by Greek mythology and featuring Roman numerals, it had clean straight lines and was almost masculine, yet incredibly chic and elegant. I instantly knew it was a piece I would wear every day, either for work, peeking out from cuff of a silk shirt or for the evening out, looking amazing with my tuxedo and leather trousers. On it’s own or stacked, paired with other silver pieces or mixed with gold bangles…

I’m wearing it when I write this post. I’m in the corner cafe, wearing black, men’s cashmere jumper with rolled up sleeves and leather pants (it’s raining in London). Every time I look at it, I think of my parents, The French and how far we’ve come. And plotting world domination…

I’m wearing:

Bracelet- Tiffany Atlas collection

Dress- See by Chloe

Heels- Isabel Marant

Bag- Gucci

Sunglasses- Dior

  8. Congrats on several levels. You should be extremely proud of yourself, how could you not be. Isn’t the Atlas the best?! I have the narrow one as well. Unfortunately mine wasn’t self gift for a major accomplishment. My boyfriend gifted me mine for you birthday after I kept admiring & borrowing my moms. Don’t you just love that you hardly see it on any other girls? I hate when everyone has the same piece of jewelry. Again congrats on the practice & cute dress might I add.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I know what you mean- someone will show a piece of jewellery on Instagram and suddenly it’s all the rage! I adore Atlas collection, it’s so elegant, and I’m glad it’s a little less known 🙂
